The Indian film industry has a new financial heavyweight. Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has reportedly emerged as one of the nation’s top taxpayers, demonstrating significant fiscal responsibility. Sources indicate that the 82-year-old icon paid a staggering Rs 120 crore in taxes on his earnings of approximately Rs 350 crore for the financial year 2024-25.  

Bachchan’s diverse income streams, encompassing blockbuster films, popular television shows, and lucrative brand endorsements, have contributed to this substantial figure. His commitment to fulfilling his tax obligations was further highlighted by his significant advance tax payment of Rs 52.5 crore on March 15th.  

This news has drawn attention to Bachchan’s overall financial standing. Previous reports have indicated that his total assets are estimated to be around Rs 2,737,496,590, showcasing a substantial portfolio. This impressive figure includes a collection of luxury jewelry valued at approximately Rs 55 crore and a fleet of 16 high-end vehicles, worth a combined Rs 17.66 crore.

This payment confirms Mr. Bachchan’s placement among the highest individual tax payers within the country.
